It looks pretty good. I really like the fact that you get a 30 day free trial. Even if your school cant afford it year around, it would be a nice warm up prior to standardized testing. Thanks for the link.

Hi Ella, I have been using mangahigh for 2 weeks now. I - 1) use a lesson activity as a 5-minute review (beginning of the period)/ warm-up 2) assign lessons to refresh prior knowledge before starting a new unit 3) assign lessons to acquire mastery…

I have never used it, but my son's school does. He attends WInchester Trail Elementary in Canal WInchester. They might be able to help you. Their staff web site is http://www.canalwin.k12.oh.us/wt/direct.php

Hi, Ella, No, I'm not familiar with Study Island. I was just on their website and did only a surface look. The one thing that comes to mind is whether or not the program can assess gaps in understanding rather than just "cycling a student down to l…

Thanks for the advice, Judy. Your cautions about available research data and promises without data are good points to remember in evaluating any program or software, as is the comment that students need quality, sustained time engaging with math (or…

Hi Ella, From mangahigh.com, I noted that it was launched within the last year and the site does not include research data about student achievement with the software. Red flags include presentation and content stressing the goal of improving test r…

Hi Ella
Welcome to MSP2.

I have lots of family in the Carson/Tahoe area.

Glad to see you found the forums. The more we all share, the more tools we all have available to us. Have you looked at the resources on the home page yet? This will show some of the great tools on the NSDL site. And if you know of some great sources its missing, be sure to share them with all of us.

There are also events, like the Tech Talks, available. Even if you miss a Tech Talk, you can check out the recorded session and add to the discussion boards.
Let us know if there is something in particular you want us to address or topics and technologies you might want to learn about.

Welcome on board!

Welcome, Ella, to MSP2. I hope that since you found out about MSP2 from a friend or colleague, that your friend or colleague has found MSP2 to be a helpful place!

Have you had much of a chance to explore the site yet? If not, here are a few places to start:

1.The math resource guides are standards-based. They are also wiki pages so users can contribute to the content.
2. We have recorded our webinars for viewing after the event. Also, viewers are able to continue to contribute to these pages and add resources.
3. There are a number of groups to help focus the conversation. In fact, I will forward your question to the math group to see if someone there can be of assistance.

Again, welcome to MSP2.
